Sublime Finds Holiday Gift Guide 2015!

November 30 2015

Happy Holidays, Sublime Seekers! I am SO excited that my 100th post on Sublime Finds is also one of my absolutely favourites to put together; the gift guide! Being as it is that this blog is all about finding the most sublime finds the gift guide doubles as a kind of ‘best of’ for the year! I hope there’s something in here that is perfect for someone you know and love… or fills a gap on your own Christmas list! Most of all – I hope you enjoy the festive season and find a way to treat yo’self that’s meaningful to you – you deserve it!  Now onwards to the finds!

Sublime Finds Gift Guide: Home

I *clearly* cannot get enough of black and gold this year ever! Metallics are a perfect way to add a little razzle dazzle to your home. I’ve treated myself to 4, 11 and 17 below – all have been wonderful editions to make the every day that little bit more special. No 7 is on my Christmas list – the candle is SO beautiful and smells like punch! I love it. For a supremely luxe gift for a fashion lover – a Megan Hess print (14) is to die for, I was gifted one for my thirtieth birthday and I treasure it!

Sublime Finds Gift Guide: Tech

I love how tech gifts have become so devoted to aesthetics! The Tory Burch fitbit (1) is not new but still as fabulous as at launch. This moment I’m blogging from the new 1cm thick, 900g Macbook – it’s handbag size and I couldn’t recommend it more. The Apple love is heavy this gift guide – the new iPad pro is finally making me consider giving up my Oroton compendium and going electronic on a day to day and nothing has every made me want a smart watch as much as Hermes’ collaboration which is equal parts overpriced and lustworthy. I was delighted to come across no 6 – a clutch that doubles as a portable speaker with awesome reviews from users, it’s not widely available in Aus yet but will ship from Amazon. And last but not least – two of my favourite bits of tech – the bose noise cancelling headsets who have this year made at least 70 hours of economy flying a bit more bearable and the Olympus OM-D who captured all of the moments on those adventures as beautifully as they were to the eye AND enabled immediate instagram uploading with its own wifi network that lets you send things straight to your phone!

Sublime Finds Gift Guide: Beauty

A very special curation of beauty finds – I skipped past the gorgeous Christmas gift packs and only included products that I know deliver! Go-To’s Lips is still the best balm about, Urban Decay is the reigning king of eyeshadow palettes and their mini Naked is the most usable collection of 6 shades ever. I have been mentally writing a post about the way I changed up my beauty return after my skin rebelled around my thirtieth birthday… spoiler alert: Embryolisse (5), Eve Lom’s Cleanser (3) and Esteé Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair (13) are the heroes of the tale and have left me with the best skin of my life. Am loving on Louvelle’s new turban-style shower caps (12) – perfect for the person in your life who is never less than totally chic. If in doubt – can’t go wrong with a bold lipstick – Shanghai Suzy is fantastic pigment for the bucks.

Sublime Finds Gift Guide: Fashion

This was the hardest part of the gift guide to curate – the sublime finds are infinite! In terms of budget buys – I have just procured the beads at no 1, they’ve been great to dress up a plain colour and as my lovely colleague MB says they “match nothing, go with everything”. The Daily Edit has exploded with popularity this year, their monogrammed wears are reasonably priced and timeless – with the ‘this is especially for you’ factor – one of their clutches is on my Christmas list! Kate Spade glitter earrings (5) are always a hit  as are their keds (19) they are ksny holiday staples and always receive an honourable mention when I wear mine! Country Road’s sandals at no 15 are are my summer shoe of choice, they also come in white, red and beige! Zimmermann’s stuff is beyond lustworthy this season for a luxe gift and the kate spade ‘go’ flats are showstoppers. If in doubt, add sparkle!

Sublime Finds Gift Guide: Stationery

Is there anything as lovely as gorgeous stationery? Always a way to make the every day a little more special, the sorts of things you wouldn’t necessarily buy for yourself, but would love to be spoilt with! For a fabulous pen with a double dose of fabulous – Swarovski (1) and kate spade (9) deliver. I own the Oroton Compendium (10) in Red and it goes everywhere with me – it’s infinitely durable and the perfect size to stash a phone, tissues and some coffee money! It is my corporate accessory of choice! Every noticed how hard stylish laptop bags are to come by? Kate spade (4) and kikki.k (7) are offering the goods and there’s an abundance of gorgeous notebooks and diaries for those who love to write it all down – Papier D’Amour in particular delivers some unique and gorgeous finds!

Sublime Finds Gift Guide: Books

Kate spade’s ‘all in good taste’ is a gorgeous gift for the hostess with the mostest! Brandon Stanton’s hugely popular Humans of New York (HONY) facebook page comes to life in your hands with the stories of the New Yorkers he profiles. Malala Yousafzai’s amazing story as the world’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner is sure to inspire, as is Carla Zampatti’s for the fashion-devotee. Love x Style x Life is on my Christmas list by blogger Garance Dore – it looks gorgeous. ‘Flower Lover’ is perfection for those who love fresh blooms. Coco Chanel tells the tale of the infamous designer’s life, illustrated by the spectacular prints of Megan Hess. Last but one of my favourites this year – Pretty Honest is the equal best beauty book I’ve read (equal with our own Zoe Foster-Blake’s ‘Amazing Face’). Author and beauty editor Sali Hughes was introduced to me by lovely Emma of 93 Frocks and I’ve followed her religiously since!

There you have it! The most sublime finds to delight those you love this Christmas… and don’t be afraid to love yourself too. I may sneak a couple of these under the tree with love from the dog! Teehee!

What’s on your Christmas list this year? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
